Practice Plan Assessment Form

Suggested Duration: 0.5 Hours

Reflecting on your practice is the most powerful tool you have to accelerate your musical growth. When we practice, it is easy to get caught up in the repetition of exercises without noticing if those exercises are actually helping us improve. The Practice Plan Assessment Form is your chance to step back, look at your progress over the last unit, and make intentional decisions about how to practice in the next unit.

📝 Form Components

This reflection is completed directly within the course app. You will respond to the following prompts:

1. Stop

What habits, techniques, or setup decisions did you find held you back during this unit? This might include practicing without a metronome, ignoring posture checks, or allowing digital distractions into your practice space.

2. Start

What new exercises, routines, or strategies do you need to introduce in the next unit? This might include dedicating the first 5 minutes to specific finger warm-ups, using a tuner more frequently, or scheduling shorter, more focused practice blocks.

3. Keep

What went well in this unit that you want to maintain? Identify the specific warm-ups, goals, or routines that yielded the best results for your technique.

4. Musical Growth

Reflect on your playing or synthesis control. How does your performance at the end of the unit compare to your starting point? Be specific about the musical elements (dynamics, tone, articulation, timing) that have improved.

5. Resources & Technical Improvements

Detail the specific videos, tutorials, or software tools that helped you overcome technical bottlenecks, and note any improvements you made to your physical or digital production setup.
