There are three things you need to do in your skill demonstration:
This video should be submitted as a video that clearly shows you performing the skill you've been developing. The easiest way is to take a video with your phone, upload it to Google Drive using the app, and submit it to Classroom from Drive.
Before you submit, please complete the Pre-Submission Self-Assessment.
Video Covering the Three Required Elements (2-3 mins)
We are learning to:
Demonstrate an understanding of movement skills by applying the phases of movement to refine performance
Apply movement strategies and skill choices appropriately within a physical activity context
Demonstrate responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others during physical activity
Use communication and reflection to explain skill use, decision-making, and improvement
I can:
Clearly explain and demonstrate the preparation, execution, and follow-through phases of my selected skill
Apply my skill effectively during activities and explain how it improves my overall performance or participation
Identify and demonstrate how to perform skills safely, including taking the right precautions for myself and others
| Category | Level 4 | Level 3 | Level 2 | Level 1 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
|
Movement Understanding & Skill Execution (Knowledge/Understanding)
How effectively does the student explain and demonstrate the phases of movement and apply them to refine skill performance?
|
Consistently explains and demonstrates all phases of movement with a high degree of accuracy and control | Usually explains and demonstrates the phases of movement accurately and applies them effectively | Sometimes explains and demonstrates the phases of movement with partial accuracy or consistency | Seldom explains or demonstrates the phases of movement accurately |
|
Application of Movement Strategies (Application)
How effectively does the student apply the skill within the context of the activity?
|
Selects and applies the skill very effectively, clearly enhancing performance or participation | Selects and applies the skill effectively within the activity | Applies the skill with some effectiveness or limited connection to the activity context | Applies the skill with limited effectiveness or inappropriate connection to the activity |
|
Safety & Responsibility (Application)
How effectively does the student demonstrate responsibility for safety during physical activity?
|
Consistently demonstrates and clearly explains safe practices that protect self and others | Usually demonstrates and explains appropriate safe practices | Sometimes demonstrates safe practices, with minor omissions or inaccuracies | Seldom demonstrates or explains safe practices |
|
Communication & Reflection (Communication)
How clearly does the student communicate their understanding and reflect on their skill use?
|
Communicates ideas clearly and confidently, with thoughtful reflection on skill use and improvement | Communicates clearly, with appropriate reflection on skill use | Communicates with some clarity, with limited or general reflection | Communicates unclearly, with minimal reflection |
